Have you ever experienced having your Facebook ads’ engagement falling off a cliff and in the worst-case scenario Facebook is restricting your ads’ reach? Well, most of my clients had the same experience before, but they were able to cope with it. The question is, how?

With the right strategies that I’ll be sharing, I believe you can improve your Facebook relevance score too!

  1. First, you need to align your ads more with your target audience. You have to avoid reaching too many people not in the target market to avoid spending too much money on advertising to people who are not your potential customers. Why? Because there’s a high possibility that they would click “hide this post” or “I don’t want to see this” because your ads won’t resonate effectively with them as they belong to different demographic groups and this can ultimately decrease your Facebook score and you don’t want that to happen. You can use the Audience Manager Tool to manage your audience and start narrowing them with the right targeting options!
  2. Offer something of value to your audience whether you use the dynamic collection, image, video, slideshow, video poll, or carousel ads. Facebook is largely a visual medium so high-quality ads are a must but DO NOT EXAGGERATE. All of your ad creative should accurately represent what’s being sold. In this way, you can gain customer trust and more positive feedback.
  3. Make your ads eye-catching and attractive by making more engaging text and clickable headlines. There’s no denying it that most people including your target audience, sometimes never read further than the headline, so it’s important for you to really nail your offer in the headline.  The ideal headline contains 16-18 words. You have to review Facebook’s new ad text policy/Facebook guidelines as well when adding text to images.
  4. Always monitor your customer feedback on your dashboard especially if you have an e-commerce business. Most people tend to forget the importance of monitoring customer feedback, which I believe shouldn’t be the case. The feedback you get from people who interact with your ads speaks something about your product delivery and customer service. So if you want to improve your Facebook relevance score, you need to improve in these areas too!
